All of this in one day: (courtesy of First Read from NBC News) First off, Thompson makes the foolish (even for a conservative needing the white male vote) statement that he “doesn’t know anything about” the infamous Jena 6 case from Louisiana. Not like it’s been in the news recently…
After that, he talks about Davy Crockett as he tours San Antonio, home of the Alamo. We hope he’s joking about Mr. Crockett being a relation.
“I’m just kind of following the path of my ancestor, Davy Crockett from Lawrence County, Tennessee,” Thompson said. “I hope I don’t have to stay forever like he did, but I’m sure enjoying the time I got here. ”
Apparently in June, Thompson confused Daniel Boone for Davy Crockett on his Web site.
