Could be. Religious right darling and recently ex-’08 candidate Sam Brownback is set to meet with - gasp! - Rudy Giuliani in a probable precursor to an endorsement. This would be huge for Rudy, as it would temper some of the firestorm emanating from the right wing social conservatives about Giuliani’s stances on abortion, marriage, etc. Brownback holds some clout with that crowd (though not much if his failed campaign is any indication…).

This is an interesting development considering some comments made by Senator Brownback in his interview with us from a few weeks ago concerning the Republican frontrunners - including Rudy.

We can continue to move forward under this banner of being both pro-growth and pro-family. Those are the two key leanings of the republican party that have held together, that have produced electoral victory. Those are the ones that can still hold together and there are candidates out there still have both of those.

I’m not gonna address the weaknesses of the other candidates. I think we each have our policy positions. We each have strengths and weaknesses. I’m just not gonna name their weaknesses. I think the records are pretty well known therefore the voters can decide who they’re going to support.
