New Des Moines Register poll
Well, looks like we were wrong with our “inside info” on both counts (sort of). The DMR poll, the last Iowa poll before the caucuses, has been released and has Huckabee and Obama with somewhat sizable leads. See below…
REPUBLICANS -
Mike Huckabee - 32%
Mitt Romney - 26%
John McCain - 14%

DEMOCRATS -Â
Barack Obama - 32%
Hillary Clinton - 25%
John Edwards - 24%
This clashes with our info having Huckabee falling steadily and all three Dems fairly tight at the top.
With these numbers varying considerably from some of the other recent polls, like MSNBC, these results must be taken with the proverbial grain of salt. It also was completed while overlapping the MSNBC poll - Dec. 27th being the key date. It’s hard to look at these numbers and say don’t believe any of it; maybe just be a little wary - that’s all. Lots of movement in a short amount of time (especially when other polls show a completely different race) deserves some caution.
