Clinton campaign communications director Howard Wolfson and policy director Neera Tanden hosted a nearly hour long conference call with reporters this afternoon, talking up Hillary’s recent fundraising bonanza online and taking Q’s on every topic imaginable. PB had enough pull to get in on the action…

When asked about the campaign’s plans to stay apace with Obama during his presumed run of multiple victories both tomorrow and on Tuesday, Wolfson clearly laid out a map that had them looking ahead to the big primaries in Ohio and Texas on March 4th.  He acknowledged Obama’s strength in the upcoming states(expectations game…) and noted that it was probable that he would have several more wins than HRC going into the 4th. That’s where the campaign hopes to turn things around and stage a couple of delegate-rich victories. Despite admitting Obama’s edge coming up, Wolfson did predict that Hillary would still have the most delegates after February. Will she really be able to stay close enough to accomplish that in Washington and the Chesapeake states?

Cash flow problems were not brought up by the campaign - only the reporters. Wolfson deflected all Q’s on Hillary’s infamous loan with the news that the campaign has raised more than $ 8 million - mostly online - since Tuesday.  That’s a mighty haul, even when compared with Obama’s only slightly higher total for the same period. Wolfson said cash would not be a problem i competing with the Obama campaign, and noted that TV ads are scheduled to go up for each state in the schedule.

The biggest bombshell during that call was the intimation from the almighty Wolfson that the campaign is prepared to boycott MSNBC and any MSNBC/NBC-sponsored debates coming up - like the one in Ohio later this month. This comes after well-known MSNBC anchor David Shuster made some comments that included the accusation that the Clinton campaign was letting Chelsea Clinton get “pimped out” by having her personally meet with and call superdelegates and potential major donors. Wolfson pulled no punches, labeling the comments “disgusting” and “beneath contempt.” He also leveled a particularly severe blow against MSNBC: “I at this point can’t envision doing another debate on that network.”
