Obama Lobbies For Health Care Reform
President Obama travels home to Chicago for a few hours today to lobby some of the staunchest industry critics of his sweeping proposals for health care reform in what is being billed by the White House as a “major” speech and event..
The president will deliver remarks to the American Medical Association that will “lay out his vision” for an improved health care system in the U.S.
Obama will also address the fears of the AMA and other critics that his preferred public option will hurt doctors and private insurers by driving down costs to a point that threatens profits and pushes most people to government care…which apparently isn’t the point of reform.
With Congress working to flesh out controversial elements of his healthcare reform plan, President Barack Obama will make his case for a public insurance program to the nation’s doctors on Monday, seeking to overcome their resistance.
Obama, in a speech to the American Medical Association, will “lay out his vision for a system that replicates best practices, incentivizes excellence and closes cost disparities — and he’ll ask for our medical professionals’ help in getting the job done,” an administration official said.
Speaking to the doctors’ annual meeting in Chicago, Obama will make his case for “a health insurance exchange where private plans compete with a public option that drives down costs and expands choice,” the official said.
The president’s speech to the AMA comes as debate sharpens over elements of the sweeping healthcare overhaul being drafted by Congress, including how to pay for the plan and whether it should include a public insurance program to compete with private insurers.

Where in the Constitution of the United States of America provides for all American’s Health Care? That is my question? This whole issue is so lame! We all die and we will die. This is the country of Milk and Honey where people can make a living on their own. This whole debate is BS! If people can’t afford health care, that’s life. Live and die by that! Don’t tax us for people who are not insured. Making this a mandate for America is Treason in my oppinion! Keep things simple! We are all going to die some time. Why make everyone pay for their lack of being able to continue their life if they did not able to make enough to continue their life. We all die. Don’t tax us for their lack of making a living to pay for health care! Where in the Constitution in the United States of America grants us this benefit? This is stupid to argue!

Obama’s sense of urgency about passing whatever his version of Health Care “reform” is, is that the more people find out about what he is up to, the more they hate it!
Honest Obe got booed yesterday, when, speaking before the AMA, he revealed that he is dead set against any form of Tort Reform. Imagine how many millions of Americans are saying to themselves, “Wait a minute…how can you reform the health care system without Tort Reform?”
In a desparate move to attempt to pay for the Health Care “reform” boondoggle, look for the Democrat Party to ram through taxes on employer-paid health benefits. Imagine how many millions of Americans will hit the roof when they realize they have been hit by a massive stealth tax increase.
Oh, speaking of the Democrat-sponsored Health Benefit Tax, wait till millions of hard working, tax-paying Americans who are getting hit with the new Obama Health Benefits Tax find out who gets exempted from paying the new tax–Honest Obe’s campaign backers, The Labor Unions!
Slowly, despite Democrat Party efforts to muzzle the Congressional Budget Office, the word is slowly getting out that the price tag for ObamaCare is an additional $1.5 Trillion or so. The only conceivable way to make a dent in such a massive number is to subject the 45 million uninsured to mandatory purchase of health insurance. Imagine trying to enforce such such an idea!!
We’ll put Tim Geithner in charge! Imagine trying to force 45 million scofflaws to purchase health insurance! You know its going to be expensive, because half of them, when they know they have insurance, are going to want to go out and have a baby!
obama always has a sense of urgency and so do bank robbers. I don’t care if another one of obama foney polices gets passed for another 3 years. If they don’t get passed then they can’t fail. The best way to keep insurance companies honest is to remove their ability to control costs of health care and instead put that in the hands of those buying health care.this is need a bigger goverment attention
