Obama Approval Numbers Remain Sky High

While some news outfits are nitpicking the results from the latest Washington Post/ABC News poll to highlight small reductions in support for some of President Obama’s policy initiatives, the glaring fact in the poll is the the president’s approval ratings - the hallmark number in presidential polls - remain historically high at 65 percent.

Overall, 52 percent now say the stimulus package has succeeded or will succeed in restoring the economy, compared with 59 percent two months ago. The falloff in confidence has been sharpest in the hard-hit Midwest, where fewer than half now see the government spending as succeeding. In April, six in 10 Midwesterners said the federal program had worked or would do so.

The tempered public outlook has not significantly affected Obama’s overall approval rating, which at 65 percent in the new survey outpaces the ratings of Presidents George W. Bush and Bill Clinton at similar points in their tenures

Public confidence in the direction of the country remains well above pre-election lows, but in the new survey, that indicator stopped rising for the first time since the election. In April, the number of Americans saying things were moving in a positive direction hit 50 percent for the first time in more than six years, up from single digits before the November election. In the new survey, 47 percent said they believe the country is moving in the right direction and 50 percent said it is pretty seriously off on the wrong track.

Get over it, his numbers are standard and even lower than other Presidents at the same time period in the term. AND his numbers are starting to slide now that people have time to see how bs his policies are and how naive he is on foriegn affairs.

A significant amount of Americans, a plurality if not a majority, have no understanding of the basic principles of economics, can be easily duped by those who are basically simpletons (Obama, Al Gore, John Edwards, Nancy Pelosi, Harry Reid, Keith Olbermann), and have no conception of the laws of unintended consequences. They tend to be enthusiastic members of the Democrat Party.

So it is no surprise that Honest Obe has relatively high approval ratings, although not significantly higher than other Presidents at a similar point in their tenures.

Those of you who don your skirts and pom poms and cheer for your beloved Barack (remember the high school basketball games, when the visiting team cheerleaders would prance across the court before the game and introduce themselves to the home cheerleading squad? “We’s like to say HELLO!! H-E-L-L-0—-HELLO!!” Then they jump up and down and introduce themselves and hug. You know they hated each other) you should pray that Republicans and Blue Dog Democrats defeat Honest Obe’s Health Care “Reform” and Crap and Tax.

Imagine the fury of millions of Barack’s voters when they start paying taxes through the nose for their health care benefits, with no reductions in premiums, as promised–and Unions, Barack’s biggest campaign donors, are exempted!

Imagine the fury of most Americans when their electric bills skyrocket! Why!?! To cool the earth! For people in Ohio, and Michigan, and Pennsylvania, and New England?!? And, on an endless loop, political ads featuring Barack in 2008 admitting that “if my Crap and Tax legislation passes people’s energy bills will skyrocket…” That’s in Honest Obe’s own words!

Wait till gas prices skyrocket, as a result of Crap and Tax and Democrat refusal to explore domestic sources of oil. We’ll know who to blame.

If HealthCare “Reform” and Crap and Tax don’t pass, Honest Obe will be simply regarded as ineffectual and disappointing. If they do pass, it will be a disaster for the country, and Honest Obe’s approval ratings will plunge below those of George W. Bush, and Republicans will take over the House, and eventually, The Senate.

what is going on with The Employee Free Choice Act

It’s possible to look at the party identification numbers and still believe that this is basically a center-right country. One just has to open one’s eyes to the fact that, after the last 8 years, the Republican Party is no longer the party of the right (or center-right either).
